War crimes: Final probe report against 14 released

Staff Correspondent: The Investigation Agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has published the final probe report against 14 people of Bagerhat over their crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971.

They were accused in seven allegations including rape, murder, arson and looting, according to the report released.

Abdul Hannan Khan, coordinator of the ICT Investigation Agency, published the report in a press conferecne at its office in the capital's Dhanmondi on Sunday.

The accused are Khan Ashraf Ali, 65, Khan Akram Hossain, 60, Sultan Ali Khan, 68, Rustom Ali Mollah, 70, Idris Ali Mollah, 64, Moksed Didar, 83, Sheikh Mohammad Okil Uddin, 62, Sheikh Idris Ali, 61, Sheikh Rafiqul Islam alias Babul, 64, Md Moniruzzaman Hawladar, 69, Md Hashem Ali Sheikh, 79, Md Azhar Ali Shikdar, 64, Md Mokbul Mollah, 79, Md Abdul Ali Mollah, 65.

Of them, only Azhar Ali Sikdar is BNP supporter while all others are supporters of Jamaat.

ICT issued arrest warrant against the accused on July 16, 216. Later, Khan Akram Hossain, Idris Ali Mollah, Sheikh Mohammad Okil Uddin and Mokbul was arrested and sent them to jail through the court.

The other 10 accused are on the run.
