Welcome Holy month of Ramadan

The holy Ramadan, a month of self-purification through fasting, begins across the country. The first ten days of Ramadan are days of mercy [Rahmat] ; the second period of ten days is for forgiveness [Maghfirat], and the final period of ten days (or nine days) is for seeking refuge from Hellfire [Nijat].

Ramadan is a month of restraint, self-purification and forgiveness. The 30-day Siyam or fasting was made obligatory upon all adult Muslims by the almighty Allah. The Siyam is a scope for all to go close the almighty Allah. The Ramadan plays an important role to establish sympathy, harmony and fraternity in the society. We all welcome the holy Ramadan.

Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, along with the Muslim declaration of faith, daily prayers, charity and performing the Haj pilgrimage. Ramaḍān is taken from the word ramad which means that which is intensely or vehemently heated by the sun. Ramaḍān was named such because it burns the sins of the believers.

The main theme of Ramadan is supposed to bring Muslims closer to God and teach them about patience, spirituality and humility.

In Surah Al-Baqarah 183, Allah says, "O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous".

The Muslims should follow the directions of Allah avoiding the prohibition. Believers surrender themselves before the Allah through fasting during Ramadan. The almighty creator also made the Ramadan easy for His followers. 

In Surah Al-Baqarah 187, the Almighty Allah also said, "And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset."

Ramadan months brings a great scope for Muslims to get the mercy of almighty. Ramadan is the most precious month. Allah revealed the Quran in this month. Holy Quran is the complete guide of life. Allah has made Laylat al-Qadr (The Night of Decree/Power) in this month, which is better than a thousand months. In this month, Allah opens the gates of Paradise and closes the gates of Hell, and chains up the devils.

Siyam is only for Allah. So, there is no scope to show off. May Allah allow us to complete this fasting in Iman and health, and may He accept our acts of worship and overlook our faults. -Ameen.
