West Indies beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20I

Sports Desk: West Indies beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20I of three-match series at Warner Park Sporting Complex in St Kitts.

After a delay of more than an hour to West Indies' chase of Bangladesh's 143 for nine, the target for the home side was reduced to 91 runs in 11 overs.

Andre Russell made an unbeaten 35 from 21 balls to guide the world champion West Indies to a seven-wicket win.

Russell hit three fours and three sixes as the West Indies took only 9.1 overs to reach a target of 91.

Earlier, Bangladesh set a target of 144 runs before West Indies.

West Indies won the toss and let the visitors bat first.

They restricted the Tigers to 143 for 9, adding only 48 runs in the last 10 overs.

Mahmudullah Riyad scored 35 runs, comprising of three 4s and two 6s.
