Withdrawal of cases against protesters demanded

Staff Correspondent: The protesters have demanded the withdrawal of cases against them on charge of vandalism, arson and snatching walky-talky of lawmen during demonstrations in Dhaka over quota reform in public service recruitment.

In a press conference on the premises of Dhaka University central library on Monday, the protesters made the demand. They demanded the withdrawal of cases against them within two days.

'Council for the Preservation of Bangladesh General Students' Rights' joint convener Nurul Haque Nur readout the written speech in the press conference.

The organization convener Hasan Al Mamun, joint convener Rashed Khan, Faruk Hasan and others spoke at the programme.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the protesters threatened that massive movement would be formed if they face harassments. At the same time, they demanded punishment of those who were involved in the attack on the VC residence.

A vested quarter is trying to divert the movement in different angle, the protesters alleged.
