Woman gives birth to quadruplets in Khulna

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: A housewife named Subarna Dutta from Fakirhat upazila has given birth to quadruplets at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Initially, Subarna was taken to the hospital when she felt labour pain on Thursday morning. Later, she gave birth to the four babies in normal delivery on Friday morning.

On the other hand, Bishnu Dutta, the poor father of the new born babies, fell in financial trouble following the birth of a daughter and three sons.

The treatment cost of babies and their mother went beyond of the family income. The poor family is spending Tk 5,000 per day for their treatment.

Doctor Laxmi Rani, duty doctor of Khulna Medical College Hospital, the birth of four babies in normal delivery will encourage doctors and pregnant mothers to avoid cesarean delivery.
