Woman held with 24 gold bars at Shahjalal

Staff Correspondent: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department has detained a woman along with 24 gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.
The detainee was identified as Jannatul Ferdouse who came to Dhaka via Chittagong from Oman by US Bangla flight on Tuesday. Jannatul Ferdouse hailed from Narsingdi district.
The gold bars weight about 2 kg and 785 grams, and the market value of the seized gold bars is estimated at around Tk 1.39 crore.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Director General (DG) Dr. Moinul Khan confirmed the matter.
