'Worked to prevent unconstitutional govt'

Staff Correspondent: Outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP) A K M Shahidul Haque said we have worked so that no unconstitutional government came to power. We want the continuation of democracy remains active in future and people can exercise their voting franchise.

Shahidul Haque came up with the statement while speaking at farewell ceremony held at Police Headquarters in the capital on Wednesday noon.

He said, "I'm taking all responsibilities of failure in my job life and all the successes go to you. (You) assist the new IGP. Assisting IGP means to assist Prime Minister."
