Worker protest blocks Uttara road

Staff Correspondent: The workers of readymade garment (RMG) in Uttara areas took position on highway demanding raise of their wage and other issues on Sunday morning.

Following the workers unrest, the movement of vehicles has created heavy traffic congestion on both sides of the road in Uttara area around 9:00am.

Airport Police Assistant Commissioner Mizanur Rahman said that workers from various readymade garments put barricades on the busy highway from Uttara Azampur to Jasim Uddin road.

We are trying to bring the situation under control, police commissioner added.
