Writ filed challenging legality of Article 70

Staff Correspondent: A writ has been filed before the High Court (HC) challenging the legality of Article 70 of the Bangladesh Constitution.
Advocate Younus Ali Akond filed the writ petition against cabinet secretary, secretary for parliament secretariat and law secretary.
Article 70 has three clauses. Of them, Clause (1) reveals: A person elected as a member of Parliament at an election at which he was nominated as a candidate by a political party shall vacate his seat if he resigns from that party or votes in Parliament against that party.
