Writ filed challenging legality of Shahidul’s remand

Staff Correspondent: A writ petition on Tuesday filed with the High Court (HC) challenging remand of the noted photographer Dr Shahidul Alam in a case filed under Information and Computer Technology (ICT) Act.

The writ also sought instructions to give Shahidul treatment.

Hearing on the writ petition has started at the bench led by Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain.

Eminent jurist Dr Kamal Hossain stood for Shahidul in the hearing.

A Dhaka court placed him on a seven-day remand in the case on Monday.
