Writ petition on CJ appointment rejected

Staff Correspondent: The High Court on Sunday rejected a writ petition seeking the directives for appointing new Chief Justice, saying it wasn't moved at the court.

The HC bench of Justice Jinat Ara and Justice Kazi Md Ijarul Haque Akanda passed the order.

Deputy Attorney General Ishrat Jahan stood for the state.

Later, Ishrat Jahan told risingbd.com the court rejected the writ terming it wasn’t moved at the court. Earlier on January 18, the High Court accepted the writ petition for hearing.
