Writing on JMB behind journo Dipankar murder

Bogra Correspondent: The reason behind the murder of Bogra journalist Dipankar came to light after 13 years later.

Rajib Gandhi, allegedly the key planner of Gulshan café attack and regional commander of the Neo JMB, today confessed to killing the journalist.

District police super Asaduzzaman in a press conference confirmed the matter around 12:00pm.

He said, following the order of JMB Majlish-e-Sura member Siddikul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, killers plotted to kill the journalist as he wrote about activities of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). Later, Rajib Gandhi, Nurullah, Sanaullah and Manik implemented the murdering plot.

Dipankar Chakrabarty, 54, of Shannalpara of Sherpur municipality area in the district and ex-vice president of Bangladesh Federal Journalists union (BFUJ) and executive Editor of Durjoy Bangla published from Bogra was killed on October 03, 2004.
