Staff Correspondent, from Jatiya Sangsad: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "Deadly drug yaba which is coming from neighbouring Myanmar has spread across the country. We have taken various steps to prevent the spread of yaba in the country but it's not working properly."
The minister said this while replying to a notice brought to draw attention by Independent lawmaker Rustam Ali Farazi in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.
Highlighting the dark sides of yaba, Farazi said, "Today the country is stricken with yaba aggression. School students are becoming drug-addicted easily as Yaba has reached almost all corners of the country."
In reply, Asaduzzaman said, "We are taking various steps to prevent the spread of yaba in the country but it is being tough to ensure surveillance in a remote area of Bandarban. For this, we are trying to construct roads across the border under the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We are continuing our discussions with Myanmar in this regard."
