Youth dies from 'panic' during Ashkona militant attack

Staff Correspondent: A youth died while rushing out of the explosion area after the suicide blast at Ashkona RAB camp in the capital on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Hanif Mridha, 32, son of Sobahan Mridha.

Police on Saturday said that becoming curious the victim went to the spot. At one stage, he felt pain at his chest watching the quick movements of law enforcers just after the explosion.

Later, he was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital where he died on Friday noon and shifted to Dhaka Medical Hospital.

Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of forensic medicine department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said that the body bore no mentionable marks.

Samples of heart, lung and blood were collected for tests, he added.

Airport police station (investigation) Ejaj Shafi said confirmed the matter to media.
