Youth hacked dead in Tongi, 5 hurt

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A youth was hacked to death by miscreants following previous enmity in Arichpur Jamaibazar area of Tongi in Gazipur.
The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, 17, son of Ashraful Islam.
Kamal Hossain, officer in-charge (OC) of Tongi East police station, said following previous enmity, a group attacked another group with lethal weapons in the area around 9:00pm on Saturday, leaving six people injured.
Later, the injured were sent to Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Mastar General Hospital where duty doctors declared Habibur dead.
Following the incident, police detained a youth named Razib, 20 from the spot, OC added.
