Youth killed in city clash over cricket match

Staff Correspondent: A youth was killed in a clash between two groups of people centering a cricket match in Tejkunipara area of Tejgaon in capital on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, 18, son of Basir Hossain.

The clash took place at 3:00pm.

Sources said that Aziz and Saimon locked into altercation during playing a cricket match in the field. At one stage, Simon hit Aziz with a knife, leaving him critically injured.

Later, the injured was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him around 4:00pm.

and his local friends were playing cricket at a plot in Dhankhet intersection area of Janata Housing around 10:30am. Babul was wicket keeper in the cricket match.

Confirming the matter, Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge sub-inspector Bachchu Mia said that police detained five youths including Saimon, Moni, Jewel.
