Zila Parishad members take oath

Staff Correspondent: Newly-elected members of 61 Zila Parishads (district councils) took oath on Wednesday morning.

Local government, rural development and cooperatives minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain administered the oath in two phases at Osmani Memorial auditorium in the city.

A total of 1,169 members of district councils took the oath.

Election Commission (EC) sources said that on January 11 last, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered oath to the newly-elected chairmen of district councils at the prime minister’s office.

Members of the Parliament, district Awami League president, general secretaries and other high officials attended the programme.
