Life expectancy now 70.7 years in Bangladesh

Staff Correspondent: A survey report of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) has said that people’s average life expectancy has risen to 70 years and seven months.

The national statistics agency officially launched the report at a ceremony held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on Sunday noon.

Bangladesh’s social indices have improved alongside an increase in people’s average life expectancy by three months from the previous year.

According to the report, the rate of life expectancy is increasing by 0.60 per cent every year.

The people’s average life expectancy in Bangladesh in 2010 was 67.7 years, in 2013 was 70.4 years and in 2014 it reached 70.7 years.

Life expectancy for males is less than females, according to the report.
