Heavy rainfall may occur

Due to Kalbaishaki squall, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions during the next 24 hours.

Landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong & Sylhet divisions, a weather bulletin said Thursday.

Meanwhile, steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay and under its influence squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, a weather bulletin said Thursday.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox`s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary Signal No. 3.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
