Jessore Correspondent: At least 10 people were killed and 16 others were injured in a road accident on Jessore-Benapole highway near Gadkhali on Tuesday morning.


According to sources, a Benapole-bound bus of Sohag Paribahan from Dhaka hit a road side tree as the driver lost control over it near Gadkhali Bazar at around 7.00am.


Six people including a woman died on the spot and four died at hospital.

 

Nine of the deceased were identified and they are Jaman, son of Bazlur Rahman at Demra in Dhaka, Salam (30) at Chungibari in Munsiganj, Bidyut Gosh (45), son of Basudev of Dhaka, Prosenjit Pal (34), son of Ranojit Pal at Goakhola in Shariatpur, Ramjan Ali (35) at Dholaikhal of Dhaka, Nirmal Saha (55), Hena Saha (40) of Dhaka, Monir, son of Tofazzal Hossain at Baliakandi in Rajbari and Ranjan, son of Dilip Pal of Dhaka.


The injured were admitted to Jessore 250-Bed Hospital.
