124 VSP licences canceled

Staff Correspondent:  Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has cancelled licences of 124 Voice over Internet Protocol Service Providers (VSPs).

Of the VSPs, 106 failed to pay government dues and renew licences in time. Licences of 18 VSPs could not be renewed as they failed to properly submit applications.

A letter in this regard, issued on August 5, has been sent to the authorities concerned.

The VSPs have been asked to clear the dues within a month.
