19 more deaths, 1,162 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

19 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 269 in the country.

Besides, 1,162 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 17,822.

Prof Dr  Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Wednesday (May 13).

According to DGHS, a total of 3,361 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 7,900 samples collected from across the country and 1,162 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 17,822,” she said.
