2 Bus passengers held with 3.5kg in city

Staff Correspondent: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) detained two bus passengers from the city's Feni-Dhaka route and seized 3.5 kilogram of gold worth Tk1.75 crore from their possession on Wednesday.

The detainees are- Nirmal Saha and his wife Taposhi Saha.

Sources said that acting on a secret information, detectives took position in various key points of Jatrabari area. Later, the law enforcers interrogated the two passengers from a Dhaka-bound bus and found 30 gold bars.

Director General (DG) of the CIID Dr Md Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter.
