2 more held over Taslima murder

Staff Correspondent:  Police have detained two persons more in connection with the lynching of a woman in mob beating in Dhaka’s Badda area.

Police arrested Kalam and Abul Kalam Azad from Badda area on Monday night.
They were detained after reviewing video footage of the mob beating incident, Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafikul Islam said.

On Saturday, Taslima Begum Renu was killed by locals, while attempting to enter a school in Badda area. She lived with her son and daughter in Mohakhali area.

She visited the school to seek information about admissions and locals thrashed the woman, suspecting her to be a kidnapper. Later, she was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared her dead.
