20,000 people marooned in Bandarban

Bandarban Correspondent: Around 20,000 people are marooned due to downpour and water logging in various areas of Bandarban district.
Sources said people of Armypara, Islampur, Bus station, Lama, Alikadam, Ruma, Thanchi and Royangchhari areas are suffering a lot due to water logging.
Water level of the Sangu River and Mamuhuri River rose above the danger level flooding the lower areas of Bandarban following torrential rain. Bandarban road communication is suspended following heavy floods in Barodoa area of Bajalia
A total of 126 shelters were opened in the district. Several organizations were seen distributing foods in the shelters.
Bandar municipality mayor Islam Babi told risingbd that foods are being supplied to 3,000 flood affected people every day.
Bandarban district administration Mohammad Daudul Islam told risingbd, 450 metric tonne of rice have been allotted in the district. More will be given if requires.
