22 more deaths, 1773 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

22 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 408 in the country.

Besides, 1773 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 28,511.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Thursday (May 21).

According to DGHS, a total of 5,602 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 10,262 samples collected from across the country and 1773 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 28,511” she said.
