3 more arrested over pushing principal into pond

Police have arrested three more activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League in connection with the pushing of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute principal into a pond.
Police arrested them from their residences on Sunday midnight. All are the students of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute.
The arrestees are Mehedi Hasan Hira, 23, Mehedi Hasan Asik, 23, and Nabiul Uthsa, 20.
Identifying them from the CCTV footage and based on the information given by the eye witnesses, police made the arrests, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Kuddus, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists threw the principal of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute into a pond on the campus for not allowing two of them to take part in examinations.
Meanwhile, general students of the institute are continuing their demonstration for third consecutive day to press home their six-point demands including punishment of those who pushed the institute’s principal into a pond.
