3 more infected with coronavirus in country

Three more people have been found to be infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bangladesh, raising the current number of confirmed cases to 17.

Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the information at a regular press briefing at Mohakhali in the capital on Thursday (March 19).

“Of those newly diagnosed with the virus, all the three belong to same family. Two of them are male members and the other one female. Two male members are 65 and 32 years old respectively and the female is 22. One of the family members recently returned from Italy,” Abul Kalam Azad told the press briefing.

As of Wednesday (March 18), Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed 14 coronavirus cases in the country among of them a 70-year-old man died.
