3,574 policemen infected with coronavirus

A total of 178 police members were found to be infected newly with coronavirus or COVID-19 in last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 3, 574.

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Headquarters MdSohelRana disclosed this at a press briefing at the police headquarters on Saturday (May 23).

A total of 722 policemen have recovered from the disease, and 12 policemen have died so far, he said.

MdSohelRana said "Policemen are being infected with coronavirus as they are closely working with general people after getting mixed with them. But there is nothing to be panicked. The government is ensuring treatment for those policemen infected with the virus."
