37 more deaths, 2,911 fresh positive cases from Covid-19

37 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 709 in the country.

Besides, 2,911 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 52,445.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Tuesday (June 2).

According to DGHS, a total of 11,120 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 12,704 samples collected from across the country and 2,911 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 52,445” she said.
