40000 people get bail from virtual courts in 25 working days

A total of 39,202 people secured bail from the lower courts (virtual courts) across the country in 25 working days, according to a press release issued by the Supreme Court administration on Saturday (June 20).

The lower courts disposed of a total of 73,116 bail petitions after holding virtual hearings of the petitions in 25 working days stretching from May 11 to June 18. Of those bail petitions, the lower courts granted bail to a total of 39,202 people, the release said.

Of those granted bail till June 18, 536 children secured bail from the subordinate courts across the country.

Meanwhile, 471 children have been handed over to their guardians so far.
