5 Al Ansar members put on 4-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed five members of of ‘Al Ansar’, a new militant outfit, on a four-day remand in a case filed with Sabujbagh police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order after hearing on Monday.

The accused are- Nizam Uddin, 21, Raihan Bhuiyan, 20, Hanif Uddin Sumon, 19, Sheikh Iftekharul Islam alias Arif, 25 and Mufti Muslim Uddin alias Muslim, 27.

Earlier, Shohel Mahmud, Sub-Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, also the investigation officer (IO) produced the accused before the court seeking 10 days remand.
