Five more people have been found to be infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, taking the number of the confirmed cases to 44.
Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), confirmed this in a press briefing on Thursday (March 26).
All the people newly diagnosed with the vurus are male, she told the press briefing.
Flora said, "Blood samples of 126 people have been collected in last 24 hours out of them five new people have been found to be infected with coronavirus. With this, the current number of confirmed cases rose to 44."
Among those infected, 11 have recovered and five died, she added.
The IEDCR director further said that no one was reported dead in the virus today.
