5 arrested over attack on Hindu in Gangachara

Five persons have been arrested in a joint operation over their suspected involvement in an attack on a Hindu people in Balapara village of Gangachara in Rangpur.

A press release issued by the Police Headquarters confirmed the matter on Wednesday (July 30).

Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Hasan Mridha said that a victim filed a case with Gangachara Model Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. The name of the plaintiff in the case is not being disclosed for security reasons.

In connection with the incident, the person filed a complaint on July 29, accusing 1,000 to 1,200 unknown persons of vandalism and looting.
