7 of Regent Hosptial remanded

A Dhaka court has placed seven people of the eight arrested from Regent Hospital on a 5-day remand in a case filed over different anomalies of the hospital including providing fake reports of coronavirus test.

Another was sent to juvenile correction centre.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order on Wednesday.

The remanded accused are: Ahsan Habib, Ahsan Habib Hassan, Hatim Ali, Rakibul Hassan alias Sumon, Amit Bonik, Abdus Salam and Abdur Rashid Khan alias Jewel.

Another accused who was sent to juvenile correction centre is known as Kamrul Islam.

Earlier, Alamgir Gazi, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Uttara West Police Station produced them before the court. He sought a seven-day remand for the seven and appealed to send Kamrul to juvenile correction centre.

On Tuesday night, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the case against 17 people.
