706 fresh positive cases from Covid-19 in last 24 hours

706 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 12,425.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation on Thursday (May 7).

According to DGHS, a total of 1910 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 5,867 samples collected from across the country and 706 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 12,425,” she said.
