Staff Correspondent: About 73.93 per cent students have passed this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations held under ten education boards of the country.
Some 47,286 students have got the maximum grade point average GPA-5.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni handed over a summary of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Ganabhaban residence on Wednesday morning.
Later, the education minister briefed a press conference on HSC and equivalent examinations-2019 at 12.30pm in the conference room of the education ministry.

The combined pass rate of all the 10 education boards is 73.93 per cent. The pass rate in eight education boards is 71.85 per cent, while 88.56 per cent came out successful in madrasa education board and it is 82.62 per cent in technical education board.
The number of GPA 5 achievers from general education boards is 41,807 and Madrasa Education Board is 2,243.
Examinees will get their results from respective examination centres or educational institutions, websites of respective boards http://www.educationboard.gov.bd through internet and mobile phones.
A total of 13, 51,505 examinees from 9,081 educational institutions appeared in the examinations this year.
Of them, 6, 64,496 are male and 6, 87,009 female students, according to the examination schedule.
