8 cattle markets to be setup in DSCC

The authorities of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have decided to reduce the number of makeshift cattle markets to prevent coronavirus infections ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

A total of eight markets would be set up in open areas of the city corporations. The number of cattle markets were 15 in the areas in last year.

DSCC will join a meeting on Monday (July 20) to take final decision in this regard.

Sources said, the division of local government issued a letter direction on July 15. Online cattle market has been suggested as an alternative.

Already, the authorities have finalized five temporary cattle markets. Tenders will be announced on Sunday (July 19).
