90 doctors detected with coronavirus positive in country

Ninety physicians have contracted with deadly coronavirus in Bangladesh till Friday.

Nirupam Das, general secretary of Bangladesh Doctors Foundation (BDF), confirmed the news on Friday evening.

He said, “Of the infected 90 physicians, one died while one is undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 52 others have been admitted to hospitals. 33 doctors are taking treatment from their homes while three have recovered.”

“Doctors have been infected mostly in Dhaka. A total of 50 physicians detected with coronavirus positive in Dhaka, 12 in Naryanganj, 7 in Mymensingh, six in Kaliganj of Gazipur and rest are of different districts,” he added.

Meanwhile, 300 health workers have been put under quarantine as they came in contracts with coronavirus positive patients, he said.
