Staff Correspondent: The Supreme Court (SC) concluded hearing on a government appeal on the ninth wage board for journalists on Monday and will deliver its order tomorrow (Tuesday).
An Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain fixed the date to pronounce its judgment on Monday.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state during today’s hearing. AF Hasan Arif stood for NOAB.
Earlier the Supreme Court chamber judge fixed August 19 to hear the government appeal on the ninth wage board for journalists.
The state sought a stay on the High Court Division order to maintain a status-quo for two months on publication of gazette notification of the ninth wage board.
Last month, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said a gazette will be published after the Cabinet approves recommendations for implementing the ninth wage board.
Quader said they made realistic recommendations after discussions with the stakeholders.
