‘A leader used to get Tk 10 lakh monthly from casino’

Former Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, an alleged kingpin of the illegal casino business in the capital, disclosed names of people who were involved in business.

In remand, he mentioned names who were getting money from casino. However, officials concerned to the investigation did not disclose the names.

RAB (media wing) director Sarwar Bin Kashem on Thursday told risingbd that Samrat is being interrogated. He disclosed important information. Now we are scrutinizing that.

Earlier, Samrat provided information that many people used to get share from casino. They are leading luxurious life style with the money. 

He also told detectives that it was not possible only for me to run the casino. I did not run the business with the own decision only. Many were also involved in the business.

Samrat said, “An influential Jubo League leader was given Tk 10 lakh monthly. Besides, many were given brand new cars. But they all are now out of reach. Only I’m being blamed and arrested.”
