ACC approves charge sheet against Mizan, Basir

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge sheets against its suspended Director Khandaker Enamul Basir and suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mizanur Rahman for exchanging Tk 40 lakh as bribe.

ACC’s public relations wing confirmed the matter on Sunday.

Earlier on July 16, 2019, Sheikh Mohammad Fanafilya, director of the anti-corruption watchdog, lodged the case with its Dhaka district coordination office-1.

According to the case statement, Khandaker Enamul Basir took Tk40 lakh as bribe using his power illegally.

On the other hand, DIG Mizan gave the money to Basir to get relieve from a graft allegation.
