ACC to launch probe against 7 EC officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an investigation against seven officials of the Election Commission (EC) for their alleged involvement in helping several hundred Rohingyas get National ID card in Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram districts.

The anti-graft body claimed that it has got primary evidence against the allegation of helping Rohingyas get National ID cards and make passports by using those National ID cards.

ACC's Public Relations Officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya on Monday confirmed the matter saying the decision to conduct an inquiry against them has been taken following a primary proof of allegation.

Investigation officers will soon be assigned to initiate the inquiry, he said.
