AL takes steps to prevent rumor

SK Reza Parvez: A total of 13 people were killed centering the rumor of child-lifter across the country. The death toll is rising alarmingly.

The leaders and activists of Awami League are going to take initiatives to create awareness in this regard.

Although, the government has taken a tough stance towards lynching incidents so that they do not happen any longer after spreading rumor but, the rumors create a panic.  

Party sources said, Awami League does not take the rumor issue ordinarily. The party is observing the fact seriously as any political influence or other issues may get involved with the rumor. Already the root-level leaders and activists are directed to remain alert over the child-lifting rumor.    

AL Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said, “Many innocent people were killed spreading rumors of child-lifter. All those incidents are murdering. The government has taken stern action against them.”

Meanwhile, the Awami League leader urged all to work jointly to prevent rumor.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that all MPs and party leaders have been directed to organize meetings, rallies in order to raise awareness among people.

Javed Patwari, Inspector General of Police (IGP) said, some 60 facebook IDs, 25 Youtube channels and 10 online porters were shut following the rumor.
