Abrar murder: Court orders to attach 4 fugitives’ properties

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued an order to confiscate properties of four fugitives among the 25 accused in connection with a case filed over the BUET student Abrar Fahad murder.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kaisarul Islam passed the order after reports given by police on execution on an arrest warrant issued by the court on November 18.

The four are BUET BCL Deputy Office Secretary Muztaba Rafid and its members Morsheduzzaman Mondol alias Jishan, Ehtashamul Rabbi alias Tanim, and Morshed Amartya Islam.

The 21 others have been arrested in this connection.

The court fixed January 5 for police to file a report on execution of the attachment order.

On the night of October 6, Abrar, 22, a second-year student of electrical and electronics engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, was beaten to death by a group of BCL men at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall.

On November 13, Inspector Mohammad Wahiduzaman of Detective Branch, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka.
