Abrar murder: Sadat put on 5 days remand

A Dhaka court has placed another student of BUET on five-day remand in a case lodged over beating fellow varsity mate Abrar Fahad to death.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order on Wednesday.

Earlier investigation officer and detective branch (DB) inspector Wahiduzzaman produced the accused before court and pleaded for placing him on 10-day remand.

According to the remand plea, Sadat is 15th accused in the murder case.

Abrar, a second-year electrical and electronic engineering student, was beaten to death, reportedly by Chhatra League activists at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall on 7 October. Later, the victim’s father filed a murder case mentioning 19 names.
