Accused hacked to death in Cumilla court

Cumilla Correspondent: An accused was hacked to death by another suspect of a case inside a Cumilla court on Monday.

The deceased was known as Faruk, 28, son of Ohidullah.

The incident took place around 12:00pm in the court room of Cumilla Additional District and Sessions Judge, district police super Syed Nurul Islam confirmed.

Sources said the attacker Hasan, son of Shahidulla, hailed from Laksham, is a mason.

Court public prosecutor Jahirul Islam Selim said that Hasan stabbed Faruk during the hearing on a case, leaving him injured. Later, the injured died on the way to hospital.

The dead body has been kept at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salahuddin Ahmed said Faruk and Hasan went to the court to appear it in connection with a case.
