‘Action to be taken, if sick cattle sold’

Fisheries and Livestock Ministry minister SM Rezaul Karim said that action will be taken if anyone brings sick and unfit cattle to market for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister said this while addressing inaugural ceremony of online platform ‘DNCC Digital Hut’ on Saturday (July 11).

SM Rezaul Karim said, “Fisheries and Livestock Ministry will remain alert so that anyone cannot sell sick animals. We are forming veterinary medical team to check it. Besides, monitoring team consisting officials of the ministry will also work in this regard.”

He also said, “There are sufficient animals for sacrificial during Qurbani in the country. We will not import any single cattle from foreign countries. The farmers in the country are producing enough cattle. We are working to run the livelihood during Coronavirus situation under the leadership of Prime Minister.”
