Actor Helal Khan remanded for 2 days

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka has placed national award winning film actor and producer Helal Khan on a two-day remand in a vandalism and arson case filed with Badda Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sabrina Ali on Tuesday afternoon passed the remand order after police placed the actor before the court seeking a 10-day remand for him.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, detectives picked up Helal Khan, also a leader of BNP`s cultural wing Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas), from Johnson Road in the capital.

He was shown arrested in a case filed with Badda Police Station on February 2 for vandalizing cars and setting fire on Pragati Sarani road in the capital.
