Advanced technology cameras being set up in Dhaka

Senior Correspondent: Advanced technology cameras are being set up in nearly 6,000 kilometers roads in the capital. As a result, position of any criminal can be detected though his NID image.

Not only in Dhaka, other important cities will also get the security measure gradually.

The government has taken the decision to keep all cities including Dhaka safe. The Home Ministry will implement the decision under ‘the safe city’ project.

Home Minister came up with the disclosure to the reporters at the Ministry’s conference room on Thursday.

Kamal said, “We are ready to start the project soon. We have a made discussion a lot over safe city. Firstly, we want to make Dhaka safe. Later, all cities will be brought under the project.”

“You know that there are nearly 6,000 kilometers concrete roads in the capital Dhaka. 14,000 to 16,000 cameras will be set up on these roads,” he added.

The Minister said, “Dhaka’s traffic will be controlled through the cameras. It will help to curb traffic congestion in the city. If somebody commits crime by any vehicle, the criminal can be detected checking number the plate.”
